Who Is Jessie?
Jessie works the tuning bench at Braindance Paradise. She is the person who takes a raw, unpleasant recording and shapes it into something a customer will pay to feel, and she is very good at it.
She is also the closest thing Roman has to a co-worker, and their exchanges do more world-building than any exposition scene in the first episode. Jessie is the one who explains, without judgement, that the trade is real and that film is not coming back.

Her function in the story is to be the professional counter-argument to Roman's romantic one. Roman says braindance has no craft. Jessie points out that tuning a recording so a stranger feels exactly what you want them to feel is nothing but craft — it is just craft in service of a different goal.
That argument quietly sets up the rest of the season. Roman spends ten episodes learning that framing, editing and presentation are the whole job, which is Jessie's point delivered the hard way.
She stays behind the counter when the plot moves on, which is the show's way of showing what a normal life in Night City looks like: competent, exploited, and survivable.
